We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Electrical Field Engineers to join our team in our growing Energy division and; to consult for our Utility Client in the Southern California area.

Job Location: Los Angeles County, Orange County

Responsibilities

* Performs power system analysis such as short circuit duty analysis, capacity analysis, radiality, protection, voltage impact and power factor studies.

* Analyze distribution power systems (radial systems) for voltage impacts, harmonics, or overloading issues using power flow software (i.e. PSLF or CYME).

* Evaluate various load profiles to determine acceptable penetration level of distribution generation at different locations in existing distribution network.

* Review and analyze Rule 21 applications for interconnecting generation.

* Perform technical reviews to identify how the project can be interconnected to the utilitys electrical grid in a safe and reliable manner while complying with all applicable standards and regulations.

* Field verify equipment location, size, type, age, dimensions, and short circuit duty rating for existing electrical equipment including (cable, conductor, switches, protective devices, structures, transformers, capacitors).

* Conduct CYME studies for short circuit duty evaluation

* Utilize Distribution Management System (DMS) to obtain real time and historical data for voltage, current, etc.

* Evaluate the need for projects and write scope of work of project initiation

* Develop scope and design projects based on assessments associated with power system analysis, planning, design, construction, operation and maintenance of distribution networks. Review and identify mapping discrepancies and update electrical maps and drawings.

* Check maps and verify locations

Minimum Qualifications

* 1- 3 years of experience

* Electrical Engineering Degree or other Engineering Degree with related experience

Preferred Qualifications

* Educational coursework in power flow, Proficient understanding of circuit maps, experience with using modeling software, or system protection, understanding of interconnection projects, understanding facility infrastructure maps
