FT PROGRAM MANAGER-ADULTUNIT

STANDARDS OFPERFORMANCE

THE ESSENTIAL JOBFUNCTIONS ARE CATEGORIZED UNDER THE THE JOINT COMMISSION STANDARDS OFPERFORMANCE.

Leadership

1. Ensurethat a system is developed to provide continuity of care andcommunication with patients.

2. Ensurethat all staff members deliver care in accordance with the Standardsof Care and Practice.

3. Implement program policies and procedures and acts as aresource to the staff.

4. Ensurethe program complies with THE JOINT COMMISSION, HCFA, state andpatients rights regulatory standards.

5. Conduct and maintain records of monthly programmeetings.

6. Assignstaff according to patient needs

7. Evaluate program effectiveness and formulate plans forimprovement.

8. Develop staffing schedules in accordance with patient needsfor clinical service staff.

Management

1. Coordinate the process for determining and maintainingaccurate legal processes for patients.

2. EnsureInfection Control, Safety and Risk Management policies areconsistently implemented on the unit.

3. Coordinate, maintain and evaluate the effectiveness oftreatment planning.

4. Process unusual occurrence reports, conduct investigations andcorrective plans when needed.

5. Coordinate performance improvement activities and isresponsible for the effectiveness of the program quality managementactivities.

6. Monitor medical records for appropriate documentation of careand effectiveness of the treatment plan.

7. Evaluate the appropriateness of all medical/psychiatricemergency interventions performed in theprogram.

Patient Care Standards

1. Ensureprograms adhere to specific Standards of Care of Patients forspecific age groups represented on assigned unit.

Budgetary Responsibility

1. Determine and recommend staffing needs and material resourcesnecessary to provide care to patients.

2. Increase/decrease staff according to acuity and budgetaryguidelines.

3. Reviewand develop staff schedules to provide consistent and qualifiedprogram staff.

Personnel Management

1. Recruit and interview potential staff.

2. Ensureall program staff are evaluated according to personnelpolicies.

3. Provide leadership and direction to all program staff inaccordance with the facility's goals and objectives andconducts disciplinary actions where indicated.

4. Continually evaluate the activities, morale and interpersonalrelationships of the program staff and promotes methods to improve inthese areas.

5. Ensurethat all new employees are oriented to theprogram.

6. Provide education, orientation and in-services for the programstaff when opportunity to improve clinical knowledge isidentified.

7. Ensurean adequate system of communication and reporting is maintainedbetween all staff members, as well as other departments involved inthe ongoing operation of the program.

Professional Collaboration

1. Participate in the peer review committee, asassigned.

2. Represent program and reports in a timely fashion to thePerformance Improvement Committee.

3. Participate in designated task forcemeetings.

4. Meeton a regular basis with the COO.

5. Collaborate with Case Management to ensure patients receivetimely, quality care.

6. Attendannual mandatory in-service programs.

Performance Accountability

1. Usetime constructively and in an organized manner to accomplish assignedresponsibilities, delegates duties to other personnel as appropriate,and demonstrates good judgment ability.

2. Demonstrate a professional attitude and works collaborativelywith physicians/licensed practitioners, staff, patients, visitors and allied healthproviders.
