This position will be located with Fort Bliss' Youth Sports activities, part of Child and Youth Services.

* Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position

* A one year probationary period may be required

* Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check

* Completed and signed DA Form 3433 is required prior to entrance on duty

* Satisfactory completion of pre-employment background checks in accordance with ARs 215-3, 2-15j, and a Child Care Tier 1 background investigation is required.

* Must complete a health assessment including all required immunizations.

* Must possess and maintain the physical ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs, walk, bend, stoop, and stand on a routine basis.

* Must obtain/maintain certification in CPR/First Aid.

* Must currently possess or have the ability to obtain (within 6 months of employment) a fitness certification from a nationally recognized organization

* (i.e., National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA), National Aerobics and Fitness Trainers Association (NAFTA), etc.)

* Applicants must be able and willing to work a schedule that will include evenings and weekends as needed for events.

Minimum Qualifications:

A bachelor's degree or higher in exercise physiology, exercise Science, kinesiology, physical education, or other fitness-related disciplines OR all of the following equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level:

1. Experience in the application of fitness principles, concepts, and techniques gained through the delivery of a comprehensive group fitness program.

2. Experience or education demonstrating the knowledge of basic health and nutrition concepts.

3. Experience training coaches or other professionals (i.e., teachers, caregivers, fitness instructors) in the proper application of sports or fitness techniques.

Recommended highly qualifying: In addition to the above, highly qualified candidates will possess experience in the planning, evaluation, or delivery of a fitness program or curriculum specifically for children or youth; or at least 12 semester hours in college coursework directly related to children or youth (i.e., PE for children, motor skills development, childhood development, early/elementary/secondary education, health/nutrition for children, child/adolescent psychology, etc.).
