The primary purpose of this position, MISCELLANEOUS CLERK AND ASSISTANT, NK-0303-02, is to use substantive knowledge to support Education and Training operations.

* Work with Communications Group concerning hardware and software issues.

* Troubleshoot all facilities and equipment-related problems and make informed decisions regarding expenditures for repairs and upgrades.

* Serve as point of contact for execution of installation exercises, ensuring all Education and Training Section buildings and occupants are in compliance with rules of engagement.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - Work may occasionally require travel away from the normal duty station on military and/or commercial aircraft.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Must be at least one (1) year of specialized experience at the next lower broadband NK-01, grade GS-04 or equivalent in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is described as developing, establishing, updating, and maintaining office procedures, and records; establishing and maintaining suspense dates; planning and conducting administrative activities for projects; collecting, organizing and compiling data in order to recommend actions to management.

OR EDUCATION SUBSTITUTION: Successful completion of education 4-years above high school level in any field for which high school graduation or the equivalent is the normal prerequisite. NOTE: You must submit copies of your unofficial transcripts with your application if using education as a substitution of experience.

OR COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: An equivalent combination of successfully completed, qualifying education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. Specialized experience directly related to the work of the position may be used to meet the requirements of this position.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Knowledge of facility management, contracting. and quality assurance instructions, practices and procedures.

2. Knowledge of instructional technology to support classroom instruction.

3. Knowledge of basic safety and environmental rules and regulations.

4. Knowledge of basic computer operating systems and software installation methods.

5. Ability to gather facts, make decisions, and develop and implement procedures.

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE: Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
