The primary purpose of this position, Composite/Plastic Fabricator, WG-4352-11, is to troubleshoot, inspect, repair, modify, test and maintain advanced structural composite components, internal and external, and accessories of aircraft structures assemblies/sub-assemblies and Low Observable systems, sub-systems and applicable aircraft specialized coatings.

Responsibilities

* Read, interpret and understand blue print engineering, manufacturing process specification and plan sequence of operations for final finish applications on low observable aircraft, parts, assemblies and test articles.

* Functionally test, inspect, install, align, adjust and troubleshoot major aircraft structural components and repair of structural metals and advanced composite parts, components, assemblies and sub-assemblies.

* Help maintain general shop/flightline housekeeping requirements along with following all contractor/Air Force tool maintenance and care guidelines and procedures.

Travel Required

Occasional travel - May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, and Temporary Duty (TDY's). Maximum 1- 5 days per month.

* Recruitment/Relocation bonus may be offered at the selection official discretion from $0 - $7,500

* This posn is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program

* May be required to work an uncommon tour of duty, scheduled and unscheduled overtime, and Temporary Duty (TDY's) supporting 24 hours a day 7 days a week flight test operation.

* Shift work and emergency overtime may be required

* Must be able to qualify for license/permit to operate required vehicles and aerospace ground equipment.

* Must be able to wear the proper personnel protective equipment.

* Must be able to pass a physical examination required to work around toxic chemicals.
