Toxicologist

Our client is an American multinational cosmetics, skin care, fragrance, and personal care company. Currently, they are seeking a Toxicologist.

Salary/Hourly Rate: DOE

Position Overview: This is an entry level Toxicologist position that will work on a cost savings project involving Fragrances and Cosmetic raw materials.

Responsibilities of the Toxicologist:
  • Evaluate proposed fragrance and raw material replacements of existing raw materials
  • Confirm Safety/Toxicological acceptance under the direction of a Revlon Toxicologist
  • Work with ingredient databases and vendor documentation to support the assessment
  • Perform safety assessment on raw material ingredients and write comprehensive safety assessment reports based on literature search, the SCCS guideline if needed
Qualifications for the Toxicologist:
  • Must have good written and oral communication skills
  • Must be adept at working collaboratively and be able to work with various Departments (example, raw material group) and external suppliers (example, Fragrance Houses) to successfully complete work
  • Must be adept in Microsoft software (Excel, Word, Outlook) and be comfortable learning new databases and software especially those related to the Toxicological discipline
Education Requirements:
  • Preferred education level - Ph. D in Toxicology or related fields
  • Will also consider an individual who has been trained to do assessments of raw materials and has an established track record of success
