Position Details

Status: Part-time/Temporary/Seasonal (PTS) position, non-exempt

Hours: Building hours 5:30am to 10:00pm Monday-Sunday; position requires weekend hours and flexibility with shifts (will be planned in advance)

Salary: Starts at $11.00 - $14.00/hr

Expected Start Date: July 1, 2018

Location: Eden Prairie Community Center

Reporting Relationship: Reports to Recreation Supervisor - Ice Arena, Concessions & Park Rental Facilities

Community Center Division

The Community Center Division of the Park and Recreation department has the responsibility for managing the Eden Prairie Community Center.

Position Responsibilities

The Café Support role supports the Community Center by working directly in the Café and providing work direction to part-time staff in the Cafe. This position is primarily responsible for the following areas of impact:

* Provides high quality customer service by consistently exhibiting an enthusiastic and eager focus to patrons that is prompt and courteous. Greet members with a smile, eye contact, and personalized message; respond to questions with accurate information or referring them to an appropriate contact; resolve issues in a timely manner while displaying a high sense of urgency.

* Operates Café by providing various food options for patrons of the facility, while adhering to standards, policies and procedures, health codes, and regulations; maintains and ensures a safe, friendly environment for patrons at the concession area.

* Provides on-site leadership in the Café when working with other team members.

* Provides assistance with team member training in the Cafe as needed.

* Provides on-site support and cleaning of Café equipment, as needed.

While these areas are the primary focus of the position, we believe strongly in teamwork and employees will be called upon to perform a variety of duties as a part of their role with the City.

Position Requirements

Education: High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.); CPR and First Aid certifications and Minnesota Health Department and Food Service certification preferred.

Work Experience: Two or more years experience in concessions/restaurant related position and previous supervisory and training experience preferred. Two or more years working in any capacity with youth staff also preferred.

Technical Skills: Technical aptitude related to the following skills is required: ability to operate concession equipment and point of sale. Ability to read, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English; ability to effectively present information in one-to-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical Requirements: This position requires the ability to lift/pull/push/move/carry up to 50 lbs, and the ability to bend/stand/reach.
