A Textile Operator is responsible for the management of fabric and leather and converting that fabric and leather to pieces for use in furniture products. Pieces must be produced in accordance with Knoll Quality and Design standards and all applicable ISO requirements.

This is a 2nd shift position.

High school diploma or equivalent required

Required Experience

The Textile Operations Job Function and Requirements:

* Must pass the Ishihara color blindness test

* Must be able to lift 55lbs

* Comprehend, interpret and process associated paperwork and data collection tasks

* Match and verify dyelot color against master samples

* Read and interpret work orders and related paperwork

* Read, interpret, and convert standard and metric measurements, including decimals and fractions, and provide instructions in the use of applicable measuring devices

* Communicate with associates on all levels and shifts using written and oral communication skills

* Distinguish between different types of fabrics and leathers, and conduct inspections in accordance with all quality criteria

* Identify and document flaws and defects in fabric and leather and take proactive action to ensure customer expectations are met

* Identify and document potential problems and be proactive in identifying and implementing solutions

* Make decisions in accordance with the ISO Quality Criteria

* Associate must possess good math and analytical skills

* Associate must be responsible for all aspects of safety, including the safety of other associates assigned to that function

* Assist Maintenance Technicians as necessary with any applicable machine related problems

* Responsibility for rolls of textile with value up to $160.00 per yard, errors can result in customer rejection, cost to replace fabric (materials and labor), payment of reshipment, re-upholstery costs

* The demonstrated ability and willingness to participate in cross-training and job rotation in order to improve skills and knowledge and meet the customer requirements

* The demonstrated ability and willingness to perform "clean up" on equipment as well as maintain housekeeping of department facilities

* Knowledge of computers
