Summary:

Works directly with the Compensation team for Duke University and Duke University Health System in providing data views and analysis related to reoccurring and special human resources projects. Reporting to the Sr Project Manager, Rewards and Recognition, this position will support the day to day data needs of the Compensation team and assist in creating needed reports and data implementations.

Collects and compiles HR metrics and data from a variety of sources including the human resource information system (HRIS) and payroll outputs, employment records, government labor statistics, and other sources.

Analyzes data and statistics for trends and patterns with attention to recruitment, hiring practices, turnover, and compliance with employment laws and regulations.

Works collaboratively with data, HR, payroll, and SAP partners across the enterprise to develop working relationships and, in turn, partnerships to carry project implementations from thought to implementation.

Follows timeline and project plan for data implementations.

Prepares salary survey data for submission.

Prepares reports of data results, presenting and explaining findings.

Ensures data integrity to maintain consistency and accuracy of data collected from or passed to various sources.

Maintain process documentation.

Provides analytical/ad‐hoc and project management support for various organizational and service line initiatives. Designs, develops, documents and administers information/reporting applications and solutions.

Builds consensus on shared data elements and reporting needs across entities/departments.

Ensures that required interfaces with other systems and internal and external organizations are developed and maintained.

Seek tools and strategies for improving data and administrative processes and supporting strategic initiatives and programs.

May conduct or assist with conducting classification audits to ensure that jobs are properly classified as exempt or nonexempt.

Ensures compliance with data privacy regulations and best practices.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Work requires a Bachelor's degree.

Experience: 3 years combined business/work analyst, software QA, or user support/training experience. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE.

Skills:

  • Proficient with Tableau dashboards.
  • Proficient in MS Access database maintenance.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel. Pivot tables and Vlookup proficiency highly preferred.
