The Senior Systems Administrator will join the Information Technologies team performing complex activities related to networks and communications strategy, including security, designs, communications infrastructure implementation and continual auditing of the networks. This position includes all related network and control system security. This individual will support the configuration management and overall operational readiness of network systems, especially environments with multiple operating systems and configurations, and provides troubleshooting and fault-finding services for network problems.

The position will support the Business Applications department and will assist callers with computer / networking related questions, including product functionality, operation, and troubleshooting. This individual must provide feedback proactively and effectively with team members and management on issues, often the prime spokesperson on highly significant matters.

What You'll be Doing

* Manage corporate Storage Area Network, backup system, primary and DR sites

* Troubleshoot network-related issues, perform root cause analysis for service interruption recovery

* Monitor network load and recommend a plan for growth

* Create and maintain accurate documentation and technical drawings of the enterprise network infrastructure

* Install and configure Local Area Network or Wireless Network devices and services such as routers, switches, VPNs, and IT infrastructure servers and services to enhance performance and security of the CBORD corporate networks

* Maintains optimal network performance through proactive monitoring, analysis, and configuration; troubleshooting network problems; escalating issues to vendor if required

* Secures network by developing network access policies, monitoring, control, and evaluation; maintaining documentation

* Participates in managing all security solutions, including firewalls and intrusion detection systems

* Handles internal security scans and evaluations

* Collaborate with other team members, support analysts, engineers, and clients to address network and system issues

* Adherence to the IT change management policies, password policy, and utilization of the appropriate mechanisms to maintain the management of configurations for the network infrastructure, practice asset management, including maintenance of infrastructure component inventory and related documentation

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; optionally participating in professional organizations

* Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential

* May assist less experienced peers

What You'll Bring to the Table

* Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience

* 4 years of experience in network and system administration

* Experience in (Wireless) LAN/WAN troubleshooting and maintenance

* Experience with enterprise grade network switches, routers and firewalls

* Experience with one or more virtualization technologies such as VMware ESX, Xen or KVM, SAN technology including experience with modern technologies both proprietary and open source

* Experience with cloud technology such as OpenStack

* Experience with network security and tools such as NMAP, Metasploit, WireShark, etc.

* Knowledge of Linux required

* High degree of ownership in all matters within the IT infrastructure

* Thorough knowledge of TCP/IP networking, firewalls, routers, and switch protocols, VoIP/SIP

* Experience with Security frameworks and audits, ISO, HIPAA, PCI, SOC

* Ability to focus on details and follow through on complex projects

* Excellent quantitative and qualitative reasoning skills, with demonstrated ability to determine event root causes, performance shortfalls and required corrective actions.

* Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team or autonomously keeping the team informed

* Interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people

* Demonstrates a diligent and service minded attitude with strong attention to detail.

* Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously under minimal supervision is critical

* General office environment; must be able to lift 50 pounds unassisted

What's Good to Know

* Scheduled night and weekend work is required, sometimes with little advanced notice

* Occasional travel, usually no more than 3-5 days per month
