Postdoctoral Fellowship | Studying Mechanisms of Gene Regulation/Transcription| Natarajan Lab

Position Summary and Key Responsibilities:

The Beckman Research Institute of City of Hope is looking for a talented Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Diabetes Complications and Metabolism to work on a project examining molecular mechanisms (epigenetics and non-coding RNAs) by which diabetes leads to increased inflammation and accelerated vascular complications like atherosclerosis.

Minimum Education and Skills Required for Consideration:

* The candidate should have a PhD in molecular biology with experience in studying mechanisms of gene regulation/transcription.

* He/she should have experience in standard and specialized laboratory skills including primary cell culture, quantitative real time PCRs, RNA analyses, ChIP assays, transcriptional and epigenetic regulation, cloning, promoter reporter assays, siRNAs, protein assays, basic bioinformatics and mouse models of diabetes.

* Experience in advanced molecular biology techniques, non-coding RNAs, epigenomics and analyses of Next-Gen sequencing data is particularly desirable.

* Manuscript writing and presentations in meetings will be required. Excellent training and facilities for performing state-of-the-art research are available.
