Bucks IU oversees the Title I Delinquent grant for Bucks County YouthCenter to provide tutoring in reading and mathematics within the treatmentfacility. Utilizing computer-baseddiagnostic assessments, the Title I tutor will provide lesson plans thataddress the individuals educational need. Progress will be monitored utilizing a pre-testing upon entrance andpost-testing prior to discharge. Remediation is based on academic needs as well as student individualtransition goals of either returning to their home school, completing a GED,admission to post-secondary education, or entering the work force. This is anhourly position based on a 5-hour day, 4 days per week, while school is insession.
Administercomputer-based assessment test to determine the success of students servedunder Title I funds. Maintain records regarding pre-test and post-test.
Actas a liaison between the teachers and the students in the classroom, as well asteach appropriate behavior to be used in the classroom.
Collectand assess data on the number of students who, through remedial education,show:
o Progress in the grade level throughpre/post testing assessments
o Are able to obtain credit to enter amainstream educational program
o Are able to earn credit to completerequirements for grade promotion
o Obtain a GED or High School Diploma
o Enter a vocational program such asFederal Job Corps Programs
o Enter military service
ProvideGED tutoring for students seeking to obtain their GED.
Providesupport for regular education teachers.
Providean environment which fosters respect and positive peer interaction.
Workwith the administration to provide documentation of residents who participatein the program, documentation of hours worked, and provide regular updates.
Meetperiodically with BCIU Title I program coordinator or BCIU Nonpublic andFederal Program Supervisor to provide program updates.
CompletePA N&D Title I Assessment Reporting System form. Maintain a hard copy logof the forms.

Thisis an hourly position within BCYC. Weekly work will not exceed 24 total hours.Services are provided within the hours of the school day and follow the schoolcalendar.
