Job Summary/Description:

Your Hometown News Leader is looking to hire a full time Digital Content Manager to help lead our multimedia content strategy and development across web, mobile, OTT and social media and oversee daily content on our website, mobile apps, OTT, and social media platforms. This is a leadership role, and the ideal candidate will have a firm grasp on how news content is created and consumed by both broadcast and digital audiences. We are looking for someone with a clear vision on how to implement and grow innovative digital strategies on multiple platforms to help News4 meet its future goals. This position is a great opportunity for a talented digital producer looking to take their first step into management.

Primary job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Daily ownership of the station's digital game plan, maximizing the reach of our local content in collaboration with the News Director and Assistant News Director

- Tracking the station's digital audience metrics and helping achieve progress toward goals set by the leadership team

- Quick reaction in breaking news and severe weather situations to satisfy audience demand for updates, video, and answers to their questions

- This person must be creative, energetic, competitive, and a problem-solver with strong communication skills.

- We are looking for someone who is both a team player and a leader.

-Our Digital Content Manager should also have a background in journalism with excellent web writing skills and be proficient in AP style

- This is the newsroom's digital thought leader, someone who can help discover what's possible thanks to in-depth knowledge of current technologies and emerging trends, as well as someone who will help spread that knowledge across the news team by coaching, training, and delegating where necessary

Qualifications/Requirements:

◾ Three or more years of real newsroom experience and at least one year as a manager or in a leadership position preferred. A College degree in Journalism or a related field is preferred. Basic knowledge of Photoshop, digital video editing, brand management programs, and content management software is also a plus. This person must be able to work well across all departments within WTVY, as well as key community stakeholders.
