The Western Plains Physician Services (WPPS) medical office receptionist assists the professional staff by providing variable duties to promote the smooth operation of the department. They provide administrative support to the Medical Office such as answering telephones as promptly as possible with appropriate phone etiquette, properly identifying self and department; greeting patients, family, physicians, other ancillary staff in a courteous, helpful manner; typing necessary correspondence in a timely manner; scheduling patients for therapy treatments; preparing patients' charts in a timely, efficient manner; making and formatting forms as required; inputting therapy charges; assisting in composing departmental policies and procedures as needed; ordering all supplies as needed in a timely manner; assisting with payroll and personnel functions as directed; taking and typing minutes for committee and staff meetings as required; verifying private insurance coverage for patients in a timely manner; taking/sending physician correspondence to be signed as needed.
Minimum Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's degree preferred.
Required Skills: icaterminology knowledge preferred. Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
