This position (00003446) will provide team-based care to individuals with substance use disorders, many dually diagnosed, in the six counties and two tribal nations that are served by Lake Region.
Essential job functions involve providing individual, group, and family counseling to a variety of ASAM Levels of Care, developing person centered treatment plans, and other duties as assigned. This position requires teamwork and organizational skills. Computer skills are important. Evening hours may be required, as well as performing community outreach services. This position rotates into crisis line. Preference will be given to individuals who have knowledge/experience with Motivational Interviewing and Stage Based Treatment Approaches.
Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Addiction Counseling, Addiction Studies, Counseling, Social Work, or Psychology; AND ND licensure as an Addiction Counselor by the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners (NDBACE); AND two years of experience as a Licensed Addiction Counselor. A Master's Degree in one of the above fields may be substituted for one year of the experience requirement. Applicants must bring a copy of current license and transcript to interview.
If unable to find qualified candidates, will consider filling this position as an Addiction Counselor I (4132) which requires a Bachelor's Degree in one of the above fields AND current ND licensure as an Addiction Counselor by the North Dakota Board of Addiction Counseling Examiners.
If unable to find qualified applicants, will consider filling this position as an Addiction Technician (4131) which requires a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in one of the above fields and/or the approval for internship placement by the NDBACE. Applicant must have completed, or almost completed, the training through the consortium required for the addiction counseling field.
Preference given to those applicants with ASAM PPC training, motivational interviewing skills, proficiency with DSM V, training in EBT programs, and computer skills are required.
