TTC's Vehicle Performance Development 2 (VPD2) Department is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Noise & Vibration Evaluation Engineer.

The primary responsibility of this role is to act as a technical expert in the field of Noise and Vibration (NV) for the group and for TTC. This Engineer will also be a technical window to the industry, especially in North America, as a means to develop new technologies.


Responsible for audit of development jobs high frequency plan

Responsible for teaching NV group members NV theory on a daily basis

Responsible to be a window for the rest of the company for NV related questions

Manages annual Job Reference Numbers (JRNs) totaling $250k and 3000 hours

Scope is to maintain antenna function of Toyota Technical Center (TTC) into North American (NA) technology, competitor performance and Toyota vehicle market acceptance for NV as well as work with NA suppliers and universities to develop new technologies to be implemented to Toyota vehicles

Establish processes/standards for new measurement technology into vehicle development

Support vehicle development teams to find root cause and find countermeasure ideas for particularly difficult NV issues, especially related to acoustic package

Work with suppliers, purchasing and design to develop a plan for implementation of new technologies to vehicles

A successful candidate will have:

A Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering

Experience working in the field of noise and vibration

Experience working on developing measurement equipment and/or developing new NV parts

A successful candidate may have:

Published technical papers in various NV societies (NOISE-CON, SAE or InterNoise)

Experience working with suppliers and universities through leadership roles in various NV societies
