What you'll do

As an Assistant Data Analyst (or Data Analyst) you'll provide insights and execute data strategies as part of our Specialty Benefits Data & Analytics team with a heavy emphasis on our underwriting area! This person will focus on looking at workflow tracking

• improvements and build and maintain underwriting dashboards.

Additional responsibilities may include:

  • Identify, recommend and develop proactive data strategies, systems and processes in accordance with priorities.
  • Effectively utilize complex computer programs to mine data sources providing relevant information in an easily consumable manner.
  • Coordinate with project team members to thoroughly develop and maintain processes or systems in line with scheduled target dates.
  • Complete accurate and timely metrics and reporting. Research, analyze, and validate the primary source(s) for conclusive data and completeness to feed metrics associated with the business unit.

Skills required:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent of 8 years' experience.
  • Strongest candidates will have 1+ years of relevant job experience and exposure to some or many of the “preferred“ skills listed below. Candidates with strong academic or internship experience will be considered as well.
  • Experience with programing including SQL, SAS, or VBA preferred.
  • Experience with visualization tools such as SAS VA or Microsoft Power BI preferred.
  • Experience or working knowledge of Salesforce preferred.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, including underwriting process is preferred.

Successful candidates will have the following:

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, math, and statistical skills and identify and resolve complex problems.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Must be accurate and have good attention to detail

Job Level

This position is open to hiring at the Assistant Data Analyst or Data Analyst level.
