Our mission is to offer people with disabilities the necessary supports in order to promote the personal values of individual growth, participation, contribution and capability.

Organizational Focus:

We serve the "hardest to serve" individuals with developmental disabilities living in Colorado. Admissions are for individuals with significant behavioral challenges, medical fragility and those who are a risk to the community and/or themselves. We provide emergency placements of short-term or long-term nature designed to support the community service delivery system.

Description of Job


Position information:

These positions give hands-on direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities. These positions provide the people being served with opportunities to achieve the highest level of independence in the areas of health, safety, and activities of daily living (eating, bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene).

Duties will include:

Position functions as psychiatric care service workers delivering psychiatric nursing care and therapeutic treatment to an assigned client population with:

* Personal hygiene and mobility to meals and sessions;

* Assist in placing clients in seclusion or restraint;

* Observe and report client behavior and reactions to medications;

* Inspect assigned areas and clients for contraband, and;

* Monitor general client activities on an on-going basis.

Attend training as assigned or required. Perform other job related duties as assigned or required.

Information About the Job:

The Wheat Ridge Regional Center is looking to hire motivated, hard-working individuals for a Licensed Psychiatric Technician (LPT) paid training program.

Participate in Licensed Psychiatric Technician ( LPT) Training Program. Class date TBD.

Upon completion of the LPT class, Trainees will be required to apply/test for their Psychiatric Technician license.

Upon receipt of their license, employees will have the opportunity to apply for a Health Care Technician position with a starting pay rate of $19.36/hour.

Preferred Qualifications:

* High School Diploma or GED

* Experience working with individuals with Developmental/Intellectual Disabilities

* Experience working in the Health Care Field

* Experience training others in ADL/Life Skills

* Customer Services skills

* Experience implementing and documenting individual care plans.

* Flexibility working all shifts (back to back shifts, weekends, nights, holidays)

Conditions of Employment:

* State of Colorado Resident

* Valid unrestricted Colorado Driver License.

* Must list 3 references on the application.

* Must be at least 18 years of age.

* Must pass drug screen.

* A Tuberculosis Test (TB) will be required upon hire.

* You must be willing and able to work shifts, weekends, and holidays.

* Must be able to exert force and/or lift patients
