Tuition Classification Officer

This position manages the tuition classification process for all students which includes, but is not limited to, reviewing unusual circumstances relating to tuition classification, evaluating supporting evidence of CO domicile, executing residency decisions, and sending follow-up communication to students or their authorized representatives; strictly adhering to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) as well as processing tuition classification appeals. The Tuition Classification Officer (TCO) will advise students and staff on different aspects of the tuition law.

This position also ensures that the University is in compliance with policies and guidelines set by the Colorado Department of Higher Education and tuition law. A high level knowledge of state and federal state law (C.R.S. ยง 23-7-101, et. seq., judicial decisions that apply to all public institutions of higher education in CO, Title 8 of Code of Federal Regulations, and CDHE policy) and Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) is required. This position requires the ability to independently research, interpret, and adhere to complex regulations. The TCO will assist in planning, streamlining, and advancing processes and procedures relating to tuition classification.
