This position is located within the Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety which division is committed to balance the need for mineral resource production with protection of the public, environment and Colorado's natural resources. The mission of DRMS is to protect the public, miners and the environment during current mining operations, restore abandoned mines, and to ensure that all mined land is reclaimed to beneficial use.

Description of Job

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION (9 MONTHS OR LESS)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This TEMPORARY position is responsible for depositing and reconciling electronic payments to an ePermitting system; assisting with expenditure tracking by downloading and formatting expense data from the accounting system; creating and entering Journal Vouchers into the accounting system; drafting a step-by-step guide to describe the process for depositing fee payments into the electronic accounting system and the Treasury, and reconciling fee payment transactions in the ePermitting system with transactions when received on the division's behalf; and performing other technical accounting and administrative tasks as assigned.

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION (9 MONTHS OR LESS)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

* At least three years of technical accounting/bookkeeping experience; appropriate education to substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis; or any combination of the above

* Must be at least 16 years of age

* Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, Excel) is required

* Ability to work with little or no supervision
