Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, works with the Administrative Director, Medicine and Director of Service, Medicine, assisting in the completion of projects and initiatives in support of Denver Health's financial, strategic and operational initiatives related to the Divisions of Cardiology, Hematology, Oncology, GI, Dermatology, Endocrinology, Hospital Medicine, Infectious Disease, Neurology, Palliative Care, Pulmonary & Critical Care, Rheumatology, Nephrology and Dialysis, and Occupational Medicine. Assists with project management, presentations, compiling and analyzing data, and updates key stakeholders. Identifies, analyzes, refines and tracks project deliverables and schedules. Provides support to operational, business development and financial research/fact finding, coordination of project activities, resource management, and planning. Assists the Administrative Director with program development, outreach business generation, innovation and operational excellence of patient and customer services. Responsible for business and financial analysis, revenue cycle, coding, performance and production measures for the Department of Medicine. Additionally, assists in developing, implementing, assessing, refining and enhancing the Department of Medicine's inpatient and outpatient continuous process improvement strategy and reporting applications and capabilities, including the build out of robust dashboards and standard work systems that monitor clinical quality, medical cost, key trends, program tracking, and strategic, operational and financial performance. Supports operational data needs of the Administrative Director. Coordinates and performs duties related to data acquisition and analysis for multiple projects simultaneously. Responsible for querying and managing data using Epic reporting tools, SQL Server, and SAS software suite or SPSS. Provides assistance in creating and refining financial and business research methodologies and works closely with investigators to design analytical plans and perform statistical analysis. Extraordinary emotional intelligence and quotient, professional communications, interpersonal skills and ability to build genuine trust relationships throughout the organization and beyond. Able to lead, manage, advise, mentor, direct and evaluate employees with fairness and accountability. Requires strong organizational skills to set priorities and ability to work with high degree of accuracy and attention to details while responding to tight deadlines and multiple priorities and demands. Exceptionally strong knowledge, experience and acumen for Toyota Production System philosophy, culture change, data-driven decision-making and leadership management system is highly preferred.

Minimum Qualifications

Education 1. Bachelors Degree in Information Management, Healthcare Information, Healthcare Informatics, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Management Engineering, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Engineering, or other scientific degrees or disciplines which include application of Toyota Production System leadership system and methodology, statistical analysis and research required. 2. Master Degree or Doctorate in Healthcare Administration, Business, Law, Engineering, Informatics, or Statistics preferred.

Experience 1. 3 years professional experience managing/coordinating projects and performing financial, business and/or data analysis in a health care environment required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 1. Knowledge of Data Warehousing technologies including Microsoft SQL Server, SAS, Microsoft Access and Excel or other similar programs. 2. Ability to manage/prioritize several small projects and/or phases of larger projects simultaneously. 3. Technical proficiency sufficient to effectively perform these activities. 4. Solid history of superior personal achievement in school and work. 5. Strong analytical skills and ability to stay flexible with changing priorities. 6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. 7. Ability to effectively perform under tight deadlines. 8. Creative thinking, able to come up with recommended solutions to unprecedented management issues. Computers and Technology 1. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required. 2. Familiarity with Epic Software is preferred.
