* Purpose Statement:

Under the guidance and direction of the Portfolio Director, the Product Manager will be responsible for leading several cross-functional team of technologists, project managers, and usability experts in the design, development, and delivery of product requirements and capabilities. The Product Manager will act as the single point of contact into the Product Team for this cross-functional group.

The Product Manager will represent the needs of our customers and target markets, developing a rich expertise in our target customer's operation and usage of our products and use this knowledge to define product capabilities and to direct design and development efforts which ensure that our products delight our customers by meeting their needs and delivering added value. Previous customer-facing experiences and customer-centric design is highly valued in this role.

Working as a member of the Search team, the Product Manager will be primarily focused on client needs, requirements, and strategic direction as it relates to the value delivered to our customers, and the speed with which our systems interact whilst balancing on content, and customizability. The Product Manager will also be versed in technology and represent the needs of the business to the technology organization and to the agile teams in conjunction with the Product Owner/Business Analyst

Applying analytics and quantitative, data-driven decision-making models to inform business decisions coupled with the ability to think creatively about constraints will lead to the candidate's success in this position.

Main Accountabilities:

* Manages 1-6 concurrent streams for 1-3 products, product features, or projects; opportunity for management responsibilities of product owner(s).

* Must be at ease as acting as a product owner when required, with assistance from a technical analyst on technical matters, for agile-minded teams that do not yet have a product owner.

* Accountable for budget, roadmap, agile team structure, and strategy of product area and teams.

* Speaks with customers at least once a week to perform market sensing and requirement/design validation, as well as organizing Alpha and Betas to bridge in to a more formalized Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy.

* Leads the initiative and immediate agile team(s) in conjunction with the product owner, customers and commercial stakeholders to prioritize, research, talk to customers, and communicate customer requests.

* Translates high-level market requirements into epic level features, authors acceptance criteria, and is responsible for product acceptance to ensure market needs are met. Tools used will be Aha! And Jira.

* Creates and maintains a competitive matrix and pricing model that reflect the up-to-date competitive landscape.

* Ensures a value proposition canvas and a lean canvas are in place for all large features and initiatives.

* Creates and maintains product roadmaps that present a plan to position the product for segment leadership.

* Serves as a subject matter expert and leader to Travelport technical teams ensuring a complete functional definition of the desired user story.

* Serves as subject matter expert and leader to Travelport user experience team to complete mock-ups that are intuitive, aesthetically pleasing, represent the right use cases, and conform to style guidelines.

* Serves as subject matter expert and leader to Travelport commercial team to ensure commercial requirements are understood, roadmaps are conveyed, and expectations are set with account managers as well as customers.

* Writes feature-level requirements that accurately and precisely illustrate market problems and desired solution in the context of our customers' operations. Occasionally write user stories and help with design decisions for teams without a product owner.

* Presents user scenarios to internal stakeholders.

* Coordinates release contents and schedule with development leadership; keeps internal & external stakeholders informed of changes to release dates or content.

* Ensures adherence to delivery plans and commitments by providing regular status updates on in-flight requirements and product usage.

* Conducts regular information exchange sessions with internal stakeholders across the globe.

* Ensure that the ability to measure both feature/product usage and system performance are baked in to every new feature.

* Creates and regularly update dashboards to provide Product Team with clear, concise, insights based on key performance indicators, on a monthly/quarterly basis (with alignment with regions).

* Coordinates with Marketing Product Manager to ensure that release contents are positioned and communicated to stakeholders in a timely and effective manner.

* Deliver product information and demonstrations to internal and external stakeholders.

* Update product documentation, user help systems, market advisories, and presentations as needed to inform stakeholders of changes made from release to release of the product.

* Ensures that all activities are in compliance with regulatory and legal requirements.

* Articulately communicates and expresses complex concepts and requirements in concisely and effectively.

* Knowledge, Skills, Experience, Training, Education:

* Passionate about delivering compelling product to customers.

* Experience using the value proposition canvas and lean canvas methodologies.

* Proven strong analytic, logic, and quantitative skills, ability to make data-driven decisions, as well as a curiosity to find answers and the self-motivation to self-serve.

* Proficient with agile product development practices, preferably Scaled Agile. Additional consideration will be given to an individual who is SAFe certified.

* Ability to balance multiple deadlines on a tight schedule with competing priorities while managing expectations of stakeholders with candor, empathy, and respect.

* Demonstrated competence and effectiveness working in small teams and leading often without formal authority.

* 5+ years' experience as a product manager or product owner, preferably in travel technology or in the Online Travel Agency (OTA) business.

* 4-year college degree, preferably in a business or technical subject area.

* English: fluent, spoken and written (essential).

* Excellent communication skills with a well-developed ability to efficiently and productively communicate both verbally and in writing. Must be comfortable speaking with customers.

* Mandatory computer skills: Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook. Preferred: JIRA, Aha!, Postman, Slack, XMLSpy, Qlikview. Expected to use these applications on his or her company-issued laptop during meetings and throughout the workday as needed.

* Technical ability: must be able to read XML, JSON, and other API formats as required. Must be able to speak to developers and understand high-level what they are talking about. Must be adaptable and able to pick-up new technology quickly, as well as stay ahead of the curve on technology industry knowledge.

* Invested in and capable of developing a deep understanding of the travel market, customers, vendors, service providers, users, products, and technology.
