The Technology Services Organization is seeking a Data Program Administrator to join it's Denver Data Lab.

The Denver Data Lab is a center of excellence to empower all city agencies in the practice and implementation of analytics and is open to all city employees. We are happy to help city employees make sense of data sitting in an Excel sheet, visualize data, complete reports and much more.

About Our Job

The City and County of Denver is expanding its initiative to leverage the power of data within decision making, communication, and identification of future projects. In this Data Program Administrator role, you will focus on three goals:

* Making data available in a safe and sustainable manner. You will lead our effort to select and implement the appropriate toolset(s) to ensure data availability across the City and County of Denver.

* Ensuring our City data and management analysts can access and utilize their agency data to support sound decision making. This entails the rollout of modern data mining tools, including overseeing ongoing education on such tools. Growing our analysis capabilities across the city will be one of your primary responsibilities as our Data Program Administrator.

* Creating useful, interesting, and noticeable analytics and data visualizations that can be highlighted across the city. These analytics will support important priorities and will demonstrate the power of data analytics to the city. Ideally, these outputs will inspire other analysts to produce similar ground-breaking studies and visualizations.

In this Data Program Administrator role, you will also:

* Be the thought leader to identify research and/or opportunities to advance data delivery capabilities across the City and County of Denver

* Evangelize the power of data to drive groundbreaking initiatives that positively impact Denver's residents and visitors.

* Follow best practices in data visualization to produce effective operational and performance dashboards.

* Develop new methods and/or improves existing processes for collecting, storing, retrieving, and validating data.

* Develops and administers instructional curriculum to support analysts along a learning continuum--including the creation and maintenance of standard work/job aids.

* Provide data support to Peak Process Improvement Analysts, the greater Budget and Management Office and the Department of Finance. Also provides occasional data support for Mayoral initiatives.

* Represent city's data analyst and interests on city data committees and at major city meetings.

* Must be able and willing to stay abreast of current data science methods. Must continuously learn new technical skills without instruction. Must be able to communicate these methods to other analysts at a detailed level and management at a high level.

About You

Our ideal candidate has:

* Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, IT Management or a related field

* 3+ years of data analysis / statistical modeling

* Experience as a subject matter expert, functional expert or program administrator/manager of a data program or an equivalent enterprise system

* A minimum of one year of experience in developing and delivering training curriculum and/or event facilitation, such as orientation, education, and training based on strategic objectives of the organization

* Ability to communicate across all City and County agencies and represent their interests within the data program.

* Education Requirement: Baccalaureate degree in statistics, computer science or disciplines which include application of statistical analysis and research.

* Experience Requirement: Three years of experience performing statistical analysis and research which included the use of automated applications.

* Education/Experience Equivalency: A master's degree in the prescribed major fields may be substituted for the related baccalaureate degree or one year of the required experience. A baccalaureate degree in any major field may be substituted for two years of the required education in a prescribed major field. Appropriate experience in addition to the required experience may be substituted for the required education on the basis of one year of experience for one year of education.

Hiring Range: Salary will depend on qualifications.

Assessments/Testing: This position does not require an assessment.
