Installation Support Engineer

Job Description

The Installation Support Engineer will provide highly visible customer support through the performance of on-site installation of proton accelerators and imaging systems, as well as overseeing diagnoses, troubleshooting, service, and repair of complex equipment and systems. Responsibilities to include:

* Checks out and approves operational quality of system equipment.

* Leads beam commissioning efforts, but must be willing to complete a wide variety of other tasks necessary to deliver a full proton therapy system.

* Serves as company liaison with customer on administrative and technical matters for assigned projects.

* Interprets customers' needs and assists in and facilitates resolution regardless of whose job the responsibility falls under.

* This job may include any aspect of field support, and is not limited to system hardware and software, PCs, and networking/wireless networking Installs and upgrades.

* Support of a wide range of complex and advanced company products according to technical documentation and company guidelines to ensure that customer's equipment operates properly.

* Demonstrate equipment operation and specifications according to the Customer Acceptance Procedure (CAP).

* May facilitate training and mentoring of new Installation Representatives.

* May coordinate other expert company resources required to assist in performing installation or upgrade activities.

Job Requirements

* Associates Degree or equivalent 5 years of directly related or transferrable experience.

* Knowledge of and sound professional experience with electronic and electro-mechanical engineering, testing equipment used for verification, checkout and calibration of electronic equipment.

* This includes but is not limited to oscilloscopes, digital volt meters, power meters and dosimetry tools.

* Knowledge of and sound professional technical experience with PC based systems

* Customer focused attitude

* Articulate and skilled in interpersonal communication.

* Proficient computer usage and debugging skills.

* Comprehensive knowledge of networks and networking techniques.

* Expert understanding of beam delivery and imaging systems.

* Proficient with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting.

* Diagnose and troubleshoot vacuum systems.

* Proficient in utilizing business tools such as: E-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio, SAP, reporting databases, and SharePoint.
