Job Description:

The School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, at the State of New York, College of Technology at Delhi, seeks to hire a one-year, 10-month, Full-time, Visiting Assistant Professor in economics and public policy, for the 2018-19 academic year. The successful candidate must be able to teach introductory courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, and public policy to a diverse set of majors from across campus. Particular interests in international economics and trade, political economy, and environmental, energy or health economics are welcome. Responsibilities may also include on-line course instruction. Holding regular office hours, and participating in departmental and college affairs is expected.

Requirements:

Teaching Responsibilities|

* Provide evidence-based instruction in accordance with the policies set forth by the College

* Post and keep regular office hours for the convenience of students

* Participate in the assessment of course, student learning, and program outcomes

* Incorporate student service learning opportunities

Advisement|

* Assist in advisement of students

* Guide and counsel students toward personal and career development

* Track student's completion of progression requirements

Academic & Organization Commitment|

* Serve on campus committees

* Participate in faculty meetings

* Engage in the academic and organizational life of the college

Qualifications|

* Ph.D., or ABD, with an emphasis in economics, public policy or at related field from an accredited institution.

Preferred Qualifications|

* Experience teaching above-mentioned courses at the college level

* Ability to engage in scholarly activities

* Excellent written and oral communication skills; strong attention to detail; and computer skills

* Demonstrated ability to teach diverse populations

Additional Information:

* Salary $50,000 - $52,000

* This is a one-year, 10-month academic year, temporary position
