Process Engineer / Tech Center Manager

EVCO Plastics, is a privately owned custom injection molding company located 15 minutes north of Madison in DeForest, WI. EVCO Plastics is ISO 9001 / ISO 13485 certified and is searching for a Tech Center Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Treat all internal and external contacts with uncompromising respect and integrity under all circumstances.

  • Function as a training resource for plant level technical personnel at all EVCO facilities.

  • Coordinate personnel and technology to support mold samplings.

  • Review product and tool design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards and contract requirements.

  • Coordinate activities with departmental personnel regarding scheduling, quality, and design issues.

  • Provide thorough and complete documentation of each sampling.

  • Identify root causes of problems & lead cross-functional teams through permanent corrective actions & process improvements.

  • Help advise customers on part design and material selection.

  • Serve as manufacturing representative during quotation, design, tooling and quality planning phases of project development.

  • Establish methods to optimize repeatable processing conditions to maximize quality and profitability.

  • Establish and utilize the most scientific and logical process and process control systems at our disposal.

  • Identify and evaluate new technologies for improving Evco and develop deployment strategies for production.

  • Assist with the evaluation and approval design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.

  • Function as the key communication link between Product Development, Customer, Manufacturing and Tooling.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organization

  • Associates Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent

  • 10+ years combined manufacturing and product development/program management experience in an injection-molding environment

  • Extensive knowledge of plastic resins and their properties

  • Extensive knowledge of mold design to recognize potential issues and recommend alternative solutions

  • Experience with design and mold flow software (Pro-E, Solidworks, Cimatron)

  • Expertise in Scientific Molding (AIM or RJG certification or equivalent)

  • Analytical & problem solving skills, mechanical aptitude

  • Organized, self-motivated team leader with a positive attitude

    Preferred:

  • Bachelor Degree in an Engineering discipline

  • Working knowledge of analytical testing (DSC,DMA,TGA,FTIR,GPC)

  • Working knowledge of Minitab or other statistical software
