Quality Assurance Manager, Railcar Repair-Decatur, IL

This is an exempt level position.

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for maintaining the ADM Quality Assurance program as outlined by the Association of American Railroads

Job Responsibilities:

* Ensure the successful management of the ADM QA program.

* Understand and follow the AAR, FRA rules and regulations.

* Understand and comply with quality assurance and Q.C. guidelines.

* Participate in AAR audits as required for shop re-certification.

* Good communication skills with employees, supervisors, corporate office

Personnel, vendors and subcontractors.

* Maintain and update the Quality Assurance Manual as required.

* Provide AAR updates to employees and supervisors as needed.

* Understand AAR billing and prepare billing repair cards.

* Maintain gauge and equipment certifications.

* Inspections for inbound, outbound cars.

* Inspections of parts received for inventory.

* Surveillance on subcontractors providing service on railcars.

Job Requirements:

* Bachelors' degree or 7-10 years of experience involving the repair of tank car tanks and freight cars required

* ASNT certifications in UT, PT, MT, VT and AWS CWI preferred but not required

* General knowledge of the Field Manual of the AAR Interchange Rules

* General knowledge of the AAR MSRP M-1002 and M-1003 regulations

* Require excellent command of the following: leadership, problem solving, self-motivation, organizational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel and Outlook)

* Must have confident and courteous manner

* Must have established leadership skills

* Must have a strong commitment to employee safety

* Must be able to hear and speak clearly, read, comprehend and communicate orally and in writing

* Position requires standing and walking for long periods, climbing stairs and ladders, working with tools, working within close-confined spaces, and working within extreme temperatures
