Production Supervisor

Under general direction of the Director of Repro Graphics, provides supervision and leadership in the area of personnel issues. Oversees all aspects of the printing and finishing processes. Ensure production requirements are fulfilled and quality standards are met.

Physical Demands:

Lift up to 50 pounds of supplies and equipment.

Work in areas with odors and sounds associated with a print environment.

Stand and walk frequently, 60-70% of the shift.

Bend, twist, crouch, squat, lift about shoulder, lift from floor to waist level, push, pull.

Work Environment:

Employee is personally responsible for following health and safety guidelines/instructions.

Work occasional evenings/nights and weekends, usually on short notice to meet operational needs.

Vacation and other leave requests may not be accommodated during peak production times of the year.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience and extensive knowledge in systems related to manufacturing relevant to reprography including but not limited to digital black and white and color production, digital color press (HP Indigo), large format printers, direct to garment printing, high speed collator, slitter and creaser, folders, drills, cutters, puncher, stitchers, laminators, etc..

Experience using imposition tools to set up jobs and send them to various printers.

Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud and Microsoft Suite applications. Skill to correct and manipulate client files so they print correctly.

Experience in supervision/leadership and human resource management to hire, assign and direct work, evaluate and reward performance, transfer or promote, suspend, layoff/recall, discharge, or otherwise discipline career staff employees.

Leadership skills to implement new systems and processes that improve the overall effectiveness of the unit and proven success training, mentoring, leading, and motivating a team. Skills to plan, organize, direct and control.

Interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to clearly and effectively interact with a diverse group of individuals to secure and/or provide information to clarify situations, resolve problems, and negotiate services and/or agreements.


Preferred Qualifications:

GRACoL color management skills.

Skill to quickly diagnose equipment and/or production problems and in determining steps necessary for an effective solution.

Skill to evaluate whether a resulting product meets Repro Graphic's high quality standards.

Six Sigma/ISO certified.

Knowledge of the UC Davis Campuses.

Extensive experience in printing on similar equipment, graphic arts and/or technical school background.
