Leads system-wide clinical gap analysis using enterprise clinical analytic tools.

Refines clinical data governance process.

Provides oversight for corporate clinical process improvement, patient safety and outcomes reporting initiatives for Methodist Health System. Ensures that Methodist Health System is actively pursuing and achieving national best practice performance in clinical care and patient safety.

Implements Process Improvement methodology for the System. Defines appropriate philosophies, reporting, communication paths and Board roles for quality improvement.

Has an in-depth knowledge of performance improvement principles/concepts and employs them consistently. Working knowledge, leadership experience and implementation of such key quality initiatives as high-reliability process improvement; IHI, Malcolm Baldrige, Lean, Six Sigma, etc. are desired.

In partnership with Methodist Health System clinical informatics and members of the private medical staff, collaborates on short- and long-term EMR and other clinical strategies requiring or producing clinical data.

Initiates, oversees and integrates a comprehensive System patient safety program to improve the safety of patients, visitors and employees. Recommends performance improvement activities related to safety. Defines and coordinates the roles of Infection Control/Epidemiology, Safety, Risk Management, Quality Improvement Services, and others as necessary.

Serves as a resource within Methodist Health for safety, regulatory, and PI issues and participates in activities related to accreditation. Leads the development of System policies and procedures related to quality improvement/ patient safety.

Monitors activities for and ensures compliance with laws, government regulations, JCAHO requirements, and System policies.

Requires:

MD/DO or Master's degree in Nursing,/Healthcare/Business Administration strongly preferred. Experience with clinical process improvement is especially important.
