Senior Manager - Human Resources

Responsible and accountable for the development and implementation of processes, policies, procedures, and metrics that support the achievement of the organizations business goals across two or more business units.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

* Originate and lead Human Resources practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity, and standards; goal attainment, and the recruitment and ongoing development of a superior workforce.

* Working in conjunction with the local Human Resources Manager, oversee all aspects of Human Resources for multiple business units.

* Plan, develop, recommend, and implement Human Resources policies, procedures, activities, and programs.

* Responsible for recruiting/staffing, employee education and training, management development, labor and employee relations, affirmative action, benefits administration, and salary administration for multiple locations.

* Develop and maintain a positive, productive relationship with supply chain leadership team.

* Partner with all functional departments to ensure meeting business unit and company safety, service, cost, and people goals.

* Deliver guidance to other members of the local and remote management teams, providing direction and support on HR related issues.

* Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal employment laws.

* Hire, train, evaluate employee performance, and recommend or initiate promotions, transfers, and corrective action.

* Develop programs that increase employees skills, strengthen their managerial ability, and provide career counseling.

* Manage communication to support positive employee relations.

* Ensure alignment of all policies and practices of the business units with the guidelines provided by the corporate Human Resources department.

* Oversee execution of new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals.

* Participate in compensation and benefits surveys and/or conduct surveys.

* Ensure maintenance of records of insurance coverage, pension plan, and personnel transactions, such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations.

Additional Requirements:


* Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related discipline required, Masters degree preferred.

* PHR or SPHR required.

* Minimum of 10 years Human Resources Management experience for multiple locations in food/beverage, consumer products, or manufacturing industry required.

* Experience in a union environment and/or with union avoidance required.

* Experience providing Human Resources leadership to operations, logistics, and sales teams required.

* Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement methodology, highly preferred.

* Willingness to travel as necessary.
