Job Description

Position Purpose:

Provide strategic communication counsel to functional executives, in order to help them achieve their annual objectives, drive culture, engagement and understanding of business priorities with their teams and across the enterprise, as needed.

Customers and Customer Expectations:

Key customers for this position are Sr. Vice Presidents for Enterprise functions and key members of their leadership teams. These customers expect aligned and sound communications strategy, counsel and advice, and exceptional tactical implementation.

Scope/Organizational Relationships:

As a senior team member of the communications group, this individual develops and implements communications strategies in support of the One K-C vision, business strategies and enterprise objectives to inform, engage and persuade global employees and support overall business objectives.

While this role will report work progress to selected Global Communications leaders and align strategies and messaging with enterprise direction, the incumbent has significant freedom to act within the functional direction. They serve as communications counsel to enterprise functional teams.

The incumbent must exercise considerable discretion with regard to information communicated. The incumbent is expected to handle serious and sensitive subjects with tact and excellent judgment. They will encounter a variety of complex problems during the course of a year, must be able to manage expectations of key stakeholders who have conflicting inputs and differing needs, and in the end deliver effective communications for the clients.

Principal Accountabilities:

Serve as a strategic communications advisor to functional executives

Develop and implement communications strategies that support organizational agendas Partner with stakeholders to drive proactive communications that build culture and engagement to help deliver results

Lead thinking on innovative and powerful ways to communicate functional strategies Communicate fully with leaders, functional and business teams, and others in a timely, concise, clear, accurate and responsive way

Must have:

Strong verbal communications skills and ability to create and give presentations

Strong influencing and listening skills

Proven writing, editing, and analytical skills

Creative experience necessary to create powerful messages to a variety of audiences

Contribute to an environment in which all team members are respected and motivated to improve their individual and team contributions to achieve desired business results

Qualifications/Education/Experience Required:

This position requires 8-10 years of experience in business, communications and/or marketing. The incumbent has a minimum of a bachelor's degree.

The incumbent will be comfortable and capable of providing strategic communications counsel to senior executives. They will effectively work across multiple organizational boundaries, have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a professional presence and business diplomacy skills. They will have a demonstrated ability to partner with various teams in a large global corporate environment to achieve specific internal communications goals.

The incumbent must have proven ability to transform complex concepts into simple communications that can be easily grasped by a diverse audience. They will craft communications plans, conduct needs assessments, identify and analyze stakeholders and audiences, draft key messages, strategies and action plans, and manage implementation of internal and external resources. The incumbent will have strong oral and written communication skills, and be highly capable in presentation development and speechwriting.

The incumbent must be able to effectively demonstrate our One K-C Behaviors. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to manage many projects at once are fundamental requirements. Effective listening skills, with flexibility in approach to solutions, and excellent client management skills are also critical. The person must be highly motivated, goal and results-oriented, with the ability to respond quickly and meet deadlines.
