POSITION SUMMARY

The Global Director drives the strategy, activation and execution of Design in support of driving growth in both net sales and brand equity within a designated sector. This role will be accountable to deliver a desired consumer experience through strong Design across touch-points for AFC within our global markets (ex KCNA).

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL ENVIRONMENT

* Internal: Global Sector Leader (GSL) and Regional Sector Leaders (RSL), Regional Marketing teams, Local Marketing Leaders

* External: Creative Agencies (Branding, Advertising, Shopper, etc…)

MAIN CHALLENGES:

* The Global Director must have extensive experience in Brand Design, to elevate our products and brands to desired consumer experiences.

* It is key that the incumbent understand the role of Design, the ability to drive strong concepts into action and execution for our regions and local markets, especially within packaging and product Design.

* This role must also direct the activation of our Brand Foundational Tools, specifically the Brand Identity Guidelines (BIG), throughout our work and drive the development of global big ideas, program execution and implementation, and financial management and tracking of internal and agency / vendor resources and costs.

* Responsible for Global Design budgets and Design agency management.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Drive strategy, development and activation of Global Design including Packaging, Product and Brand Ideas in partnership with global and regional leaders. Drive development and delivery of key outputs within Brand Design for designated sector in support of delivering bolder promises to our consumers.

* Develop and deliver global brand design vision; and direct regional execution and local customization of global design for the sector across all touch-points to reflect key business and brand strategies and priorities.

* Deliver on both top line – net sales and bottom line – profit growth by creating desired experiences that consumers irrationally want

* Ensure world class execution of plans, driving unparalleled effectiveness, efficiency, and precision in budgeting and reporting of the A&CP investment. Responsible for Global Design budgets.

* Engage in management of Design agency relationships on assigned brands ensuring a high level of collaboration and efficiency, including SOW development and performance management.

* Implement and translate Brand Identity Guidelines (BIG) into local execution through collaboration with key markets.

* Promote channel-agnostic thinking and leadership to identify most applicable and effective consumer/shopper/customer touch-points.

* Lead collaboration between regional / local marketers and Global Creative and Design team to ensure optimal Brand Design development for the sector.

* Ensure local and regional team members have an understanding of Design and are proficient in key areas -i.e. idea development, idea execution, design, digital, packaging, retail.

* Educate and collaborate with GSL, RSL, and local marketing teams to show (not tell) how Brand Design can collectively drive a stronger Consumer Experience that delivers value to our consumers, our customers / retailers and our Brands.

* Develop Design team's capabilities to ensure we are meeting regional and local business requirements, consumer segment needs, customer / retailer needs, and delivering executional excellence.

* Recruit, Retain and Develop internal Design talent and external Agency Partners to position Kimberly-Clark as a destination for top talent.

* Foster and nurture a culture of accountability and collaboration that promotes education and awareness of the Design team with other functions in Kimberly-Clark.

REQUIREMENTS:

* Bachelor's Degree or higher in Marketing, Communications, Design or similar Marketing discipline.

* Minimum of 10 years industry experience with ability to effectively manage and develop creative teams.

* Excellent leadership and communication skills.

* Strong understanding of Brand development and multichannel marketing concepts.

* Strong background in Design and Design Management

* Ability to handle multiple projects, delegate and meet rigorous deadlines.

* Strong critical thinking, stakeholder management and presentation skills.

* Team player able to work collaboratively with internal teams and external partners.

* Conceptual thinker with a strong business sense.

* Background in consumer products and a variety of product categories or industries.

* Global experience preferred.

* Willingness to travel up to 15-20% of scheduled work time.
