ABOUT THE JOB:

Creates a developmental plan for the facilitation of therapeutic interventions.

Responsible for helping patients and patient families cope with the stress of hospitalization by assessing patient psychosocial and developmental needs during hospitalization.

Ensure the coordination and initiation involvement of all patients and patient's families in appropriate community activities. This is a full-time position working Monday-Friday working 8:30a.m-5:00p.m or 10:00a.m.-6:30p.m. Times are still being determined.

SOME HIGHLIGHTED RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates a developmental plan for the facilitation of therapeutic interventions.
  • Responsible for helping patients and patient families cope with the stress of hospitalization by assessing patient psychosocial and developmental needs during hospitalization.
  • Ensure the coordination and initiation involvement of all patients and patient's families in appropriate community activities.
  • Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
  • Document patient's developmental needs, coping and plan to facilitate mastery in patient medical records and recognize.
  • Prepare siblings for visitation and anticipated events related to treatment and provide sibling support, and provide.

EXPERIENCE: Child Life Specialist Internship required

EDUCATION:

  • Four-year Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Licenses and Certification:

  • Child Life Specialist Professional
