Job Responsibilities

Gas Lab Analytical Chemist will be responsible for analysis of ASU Gas Plant samples (600 samples per year) as well as trace metals sampling in reactive gases. Will be responsible for handling compressed gases and reactive gases as well as operating gas chromatographs. You will need to be highly safety-conscious and detail-oriented.

* Assure the accident and incident free conduct of all aspects of R&D ongoing operations

* Responsible for internal publication and/or presentation of proprietary research and development projects

* Responsible for external publication and/or presentation of non-proprietary research and development projects

* Work with instrument manufacturers and/or develop internal capabilities for new instruments applicable to semiconductor process chemical and gas analysis

* Participate in semiconductor and analytical related standards organizations

* Development of new analytical methods for the Production laboratories

* Development of new analytical methods for new advanced products

* Provide training for new analytical methods to Production laboratory personnel

* Develop draft SOPs for production lab personnel

* Maintain contact with Production lab personnel during method lifetime to ensure continued applicability of analytical methods

* Develop the analytical capabilities needed for semiconductor process chemicals and gases

Required Qualifications

* Strong communicator who builds and establishes strong lines of communication with research staff, Production lab personnel and other R&D personnel

* Strong analytical skills and vision to forecast and develop future analytical needs

* General semiconductor process knowledge for working with wafer fab customers

* Team player

* Self motivated

* Knowledge of statistics and SPC/SQC

* Computer skills/PC package expertise, including word processing and database

* software applications

Physical Requirements

* Ability to lift a weight of 50 lbs.

Educational Requirements

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science discipline (Chemistry)

* 1+ years experience working as an analytical chemist or in the industrial gas field
