Job PurposeUnder the direction of a BCBA, assist in data collection and monitoring of behavior, support services, perform a variety of specialized learning techniques,communication strategies, and applied behavioral activities or techniques pertaining to the instruction of mild to severely disabled clients; assist in modeling the use of positive behavior support and intervention techniques for campus staff.Essential FunctionsImplements treatment plans under the direction of BCBAApplies behavioral principles consistently in all interactions with students and campus staffTeaches and support students to acquire language, academic, self-help, and social skillsAssists students, as needed, to acquire academic and/or appropriate life skills. This may include toilet training, eating, and other self-help skillsConducts or assists in conducting behavioral assessmentsConsistently implements behavior plans to reduce student's socially inappropriate behavior and promote appropriate social behaviorsEffectively responds to and manages crisis situations which may include student exhibiting physical aggressionObserves records, and reports the condition and behavior of the students, writes progress reports, and other requested written assignments including maintaining daily records related to the clients in a detailed, accurate, consistent and timely mannerCommunicates with the school principal and administration Assists in creating instructional materialsFunctions as an active member of the treatment teamAdhere to the BACB code of EthicsOther duties as assigned to facilitate the successful operation of the facility (i.e. compliance, training, cleaning, maintenance, and support)
