Founded in 1988 through a collaborative effort between the J. Arthur Trudeau Memorial Center and local parents of children with autism, Pathways is committed to utilizing scientifically validated teaching methodologies in improving the lives of individuals with ASD and their families. Pathways education and treatment strategies are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis. Individually tailored curricula address speech and language, pre-academic and academic skills, daily living and self-care skills, play and social skills, vocational skills, and assessment and treatment of challenging behavior.

The SLP will assist to provide quality speech/language services for students at Pathways Strategic Teaching Center. This involves developing augmentative and functional communication systems, conducting trainings, consulting with educational team, conducting assessments, and providing direct/indirect services. Participate in multidisciplinary evaluations as needed. Provide documentation of services consistent with Department of Education Regulations. Year Round Program.

Overview of Responsibilities and Requirements:

* Provides service coordination and primary therapy in a center, community, home-based settings to achieve goals in all necessary areas.

* Participates in arena-style multidisciplinary evaluations, taking responsibility for pre-linguistic and linguistic communication development, and provide oral and written information to the child's parents and other team members.

* Obtains consultation from other members of the team in areas outside own expertise, such as social work, cognition, speech development, in order to fully address the needs of individual children on caseload.

* Must maintains licensure/certification and participates actively in service activities and the professional community with own discipline.

* Ability to lift 30lbs. frequent sitting, standing and walking.

* Ability to communicate effectively-verbally & written

Education, Experience and Skills:

* Minimum of a Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology

* Holder of Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA) or eligible to qualify for CCC-SLP credentials following a clinical fellowship year

* Licensed to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist CFY candidates welcome!

* Knowledge or experience working with children with Autism Spectrum Disorders preferred
