REPORTS TO: Principal POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for assisting students and teachers in computer instruction in labs or classrooms; maintains computer hardware and software inventories; various other support activities. Develops and promotes good community relations among various community and school clientele. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaborates with teachers to provide instructional and enrichment assistance to individual students, and large and small groups Maintains library, including new acquisitions, circulation of collection, maintenance of collection, student instruction and assistance Provides instruction for all students in computers, computer assisted instruction and program application Provides clerical support in office, including secretarial tasks, correspondence, mail, answering phones, and general office duties Assists with lunch set up and serving of food to students Performs other related duties as assigned or requested POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Minimum Education: High school graduate or equivalent Minimum Experience Less than one year Skill Requirements Computer Word processing General office equipment Effective communication Some knowledge of instruction Some knowledge of child development Some knowledge of classroom management General Expectations Is flexible Has the ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and co-workers Maintains a generally positive attitude Observes all district policies and procedures LICENSES OR CERTIFICATION: None required ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS: Mostly clean and comfortable ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Occasional lifting 5 to 10 pounds Frequent bending, standing, sitting, and walking Occasional squatting, reaching, climbing, and stooping SUPERVISORY DUTIES: None The above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed.
