Travel 10-30% potential. Travel would consist of visiting job sites in TX, OK, AR, and LA.

Traveling by car or flying, could include overnight stay (1-3 nights).

This role is designated as Hybrid work. On-location two days in office, 3 days in field or remote. Preferred location is Shreveport, LA. Will consider Tulsa, OK. Candidates local to these areas ONLY.

Open to Transmission Line Siting Specialist, however preference is Sr Trans Line Siting Specialist is preferred.

Trans Line Siting Specialist

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Natural Resources / Environmental Science, GIS, or related field.

Experience: Two to four years' total industry experience. Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS/Google Earth and Microsoft Office computer applications is desired.

Sr Trans Line Siting Specialist

Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Natural Resources / Environmental Science, GIS, or related field. A professional license or certification is desired, but not required.

Work Experience: Minimum of either 6-11 years total industry experience; OR a minimum of 3-5 years. experience working as Transmission Siting & Environmental Spec I or equivalent. Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS/Google Earth and Microsoft Office computer applications is required.

This role is responsible for coordinating the routing and environmental assessment siting studies for multi-million-dollar electric transmission line and substation projects. Projects can range from small scale to hundreds of miles in length traversing multiple states. This role will understand the full range of issues related to the successful siting and permitting of a transmission project and will be accountable for making sound siting, routing, and regulatory recommendations and decisions. Areas of required expertise include environmental (cultural, natural, and visual resource assessment), utility corridor siting (state utility regulatory requirements, ROW acquisition knowledge, stakeholder interaction, and environmental permitting requirements) and project management.

Proficiency with ESRI ArcGIS/Google Earth and Microsoft Office computer applications. Excellent written, organizational, presentation, oral communication, and time management skills. The ability to handle multiple projects and assignments is critical.

Essential Job Functions & Tasks:

1. Ensure that transmission siting/environmental/permitting activities are performed in accordance with the policies, practices and standards of the Company and regulations and procedures as required by Federal, State or Local regulatory agencies.

2. Organize the siting studies and permitting activities to meet in-service dates and ensure compliance.

3. Oversight of outsourcing related to transmission siting routing or environmental assessment studies and siting risk assessments.

4. Work interdependently with a multidisciplinary project team to identify buildable, cost-effective routes and facility locations, which minimize environmental impacts. 5. Serve as liaison with company Environmental Services on all environmental aspects of the projects.

6. Determine siting/environmental/permitting risks, tasks, scopes, and cost estimates.

7. Manage siting consultant who prepares environmental assessments and routing studies for transmission facility projects.

8. Coordinate with project team to meet regulatory requirements (review CCN/CECPN exhibits, testimony, interrogatories, schedule, etc.).

9. Develop and monitor schedules to complete siting/environmental/permitting tasks and manage identified risks.

10. Participate in stakeholder meetings and public workshops.

11. Prepare testimony and testify before Federal, State and Local agencies concerning transmission routing and substation siting. Review testimony and testify, as needed, before Federal, State, and local agencies concerning transmission routing and substation siting.

12. Organize and facilitate project meetings related to siting/environmental/permitting. Organize and facilitate project meetings related to siting risks, studies, and regulatory requirements (CCN, CECPN, and Exempt CCN).

13. Evaluate the impact of proposed legislation and regulations on transmission projects and provide input to the development process.

14. Build networks that extend through company and other companies, and regulatory agencies.

15. Improve standardization and process development.

16. Make presentations to civic groups, property owners, regulatory agencies, and employees.

17. Perform other duties as requested or assigned.

Additional Requirements:

1. Must be available to work overtime, as required.

2. May require extended hours to accomplish assigned tasks to meet requirements and schedules.

3. Some overnight travel to facilities and projects (field work) is required.

4. Position requires some travel and exposure to situations which require knowledge, understanding, and adherence to applicable safety procedures, and ability to hike one to three miles.

5. 10 to 30 % of travel time associated with this position.
