Direct and Technical Direct studio newscast programming using ROSS video switcher, Chyron graphics, BIT Central video servers and clip/video store. Will operate in a newsroom workflow system preparing and executing newscasts working with producers and production staff creating innovative and visually appealing content while meeting goals established by management.

Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with station staff to coordinate newscast production working in all technical positions as needed, including directing, editing, graphics, studio and audio operation.
  • Will train to coordinate with producers and direct all technical aspects of live newscasts and other productions.
  • Manually switch video sources, graphic keys, monitor graphics, special effects and other aspects of news production.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 3 years' experience working in broadcast television station on newscast production with an understanding of the technology and equipment.
  • Excellent team player with communication skills and a working knowledge of broadcast switchers, router systems, master control servers, audio console and studio camera.
  • Ability to work well and make quick decisions under pressure are required.
  • Coordination of technical staff in a live, fast paced environment is the primary job function.
  • A certain amount of manual dexterity is required to manually switch programming.
  • Knowledge of AP-ENPS, Edius and Adobe edit software is expected.
  • Ability to adapt, embrace change and work a flexible schedule supporting at 24 x 7 x 365 news operation.
  • Travel: Rarely: less than 10%
  • Work Environment Set: Office: normally performed in a typical interior/office environment
  • Physical Demands Set: Medium work: Involves standing prolong hours, stooping, bending, lifting/pushing up to 25 lbs.
