Caterpillar Large Power Systems Division (LPSD) designs and manufactures diesel, gas and reman, ranging from 400 kilowatts to 16 megawatts of power, and the key engine systems such as fuel, air, aftertreatment and cooling which are used to power oil & gas, electric power, marine, rail and Cat machine applications around the world.

As an experienced Manufacturing Engineer at Caterpillar in the Large Power Systems Division, located at the Corinth, Mississippi Remanufactured Engine Components Facility, you will have an opportunity to provide the technical expertise necessary to design, develop, and implement manufacturing systems and processes, consisting of complex manufacturing operations and sophisticated manufacturing machines.

Job Duties/Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

* Evaluate existing manufacturing processes and workflows to identify opportunities to implement improvements following Lean philosophies

* Investigate and solve manufacturing problems through the continuous improvement process and problem-solving tools

* Manage manufacturing floor layout to maximize efficiency and flow

* Working with Suppliers and Vendors to develop safe, efficient and cost-effective Assembly systems to produce quality products

* Providing Technical Support, Machine Integration, and Programming changes to PLC Logic Controllers, and Misc. Assembly and Test equipment

* Administering the assembly New Product Introduction (NPI) process to ensure that Engineering drawings are released and processed on time for NPI build.

* Supporting Engineering Change processes, Warranty reduction, and Continuous Improvement initiatives to improve Safety, Quality, Velocity, and Cost metrics.

* Training new processors and developing training programs for Processors and Assemblers.

* Investigating and Engaging in creative problem solving / brainstorming / collaborative cross-functional projects to address operational issues including: ergonomic/ safety, efficiency improvements, process bottlenecks, quality concerns.

* Supporting Maintenance, Contractors, and Suppliers with Troubleshooting, Repair, and Programming Changes to machines and tooling

* Designing, developing and implementing the integration of manufacturing systems including factory control software, work order, assembly time standards, scheduling techniques, simulation and systems application.

* Coordinating, planning, monitoring and reporting the activities associated with the flow analysis, design, financial modeling and implementation of complex manufacturing group technology cells in an assigned area.

* Providing manufacturing technical support in process control and internal certification.

* Coordinating the purchase and application of machine tools, controls and related equipment corporate wide to ensure the latest technology is being used to increase efficiency and economy of operations.

* Support new product introduction

* Attend Engineering Change reviews

* Lead safety, quality and system improvement projects

* Create and update standard work, safe operating procedures, SFMEA's, PFMEA's and control plans

* Drive root cause corrective actions and implement solutions

* Support capacity planning and layout change initiatives

* Value stream mapping analysis and optimization

Basic Qualifications:

* Bachelor's degree in a manufacturing engineering-related discipline (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering)

* 3 years' of manufacturing engineering experience, preferably in assembly processes

Top Candidates will also have:

* 5 years manufacturing engineering related work experience

* Familiar with company policies and procedures with a strong manufacturing engineering department background

* Able to build strong relationships with various stakeholders

* Thorough knowledge of Engine design

* Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, PTC Creo design software, including 3D modelling and printing

* Background in DMAIC Lean Principles

* Factory Automation, Capital Equipment, and Manufacturing Machine Integration project experience

* Thorough knowledge of manufacturing concepts

* Good written and oral communication skills
