Maintenance Technician

Corinth, MS

Global Non-Wovens Division

This position works within a flexible work environment that may require supporting additional functions and/or responsibilities to achieve business needs.


* Responsible for areas assigned

* Responds to troubleshooting needs prioritized by the business needs

* Adheres to appropriate reliability standards

* Actively seeks to gain knowledge in Electrical and Mechanical systems

* Performs planned maintenance activities (work orders and PM's)

* Supports the planning process and preparation of planned maintenance downs and uptime PMs

* Helps with process trouble shooting and performs Root Cause Analysis

* Manages small projects including minor contractor activities

* Provides reliability training and instructions (Mentoring) to fellow technicians

* Adheres to appropriate maintenance practices and procedures

* Is capable to perform electrical and mechanical tasks

* Utilizes systems to support the role (i.e. SAP, PIMS, EXPERION, DRCS)

* Responds to the mill needs after normal business hours if required

* Performs planned maintenance activities on all assets

* Performs assigned daily rounds

* Spends 80% of time on tools, 10% personal development, and 10% mentoring fellow technicians


* Team Leader, Maintenance Planners, Operating Crews, Machine Leaders, Project Leaders.


Ensure that maintenance activities are accomplished within mill area teams in a manner that supports mill and department objectives.

Drive continuous improvement in safety, quality, and productivity. Own and drive machine uptime.

Visible leader of Lean principles (i.e. engagement, leader standard work, zone control, problem solving).

Ensure corrective and preventive action for all machine non-conformances and support operating crews when needed.


* Lives the 3-Obligations. Believes in a zero injury workplace

* Has technical skills associated with Tech School or equivalent, or is trained in industrial manufacturing with levels of knowledge that require a developmental path of months to years

* Is capable of providing work direction, decision making, and team leadership elements such as goal setting, or returning to "standard"

* Works well in a team environment

* Is trained and experienced in LEAN manufacturing methods. Contributes to problem-solving, can establish standards, and is committed to improvement

* Has the process knowledge and the desire for improvement to create a more competitive future by identifying opportunities and relentlessly pursuing

* Must be able to demonstrate the "World Class Leadership Practices"

* Is able to interact within the Reliability arena ( i.e. Maintenance Planner, Engineers, Vendors, Staff Support)

* Has good computer skills

* Has working knowledge of supporting systems: SAP, Excel, Word, etc.

* Has good oral and written communication skills

* Is self-starter with the ability to work with little supervision

* Has demonstrated Good Organizational skills

* Ability to work nights, holidays, weekends, overtime and be on call.

* Ability to work in a team environment (High Performance Work System)

* Three (3) or more years' experience of skilled mechanical maintenance work within a manufacturing environment, or equivalent.

* Specific trade experience in general mechanical maintenance (especially industrial rotating equipment), welding, pipefitting and millwright skills. Machining and other trade specializations such as hydraulics, pneumatics, and vibration analysis are desirable.


* Associates degree in Industrial Maintenance and 3 years' experience in an Industrial environment as a Maintenance Technician or high school diploma and 5 years' experience in an industrial environment as a Maintenance Technician


Candidates must pass a written and Hands-on assessment as a prerequisite for an interview.
