JOB SUMMARY:

The Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is seeking an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Habilitation Supervisor 1. This position is responsible for supervising and providing leadership for staff who provide direct care for individuals with developmental disabilities. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

JOB DUTIES:

* Supervisory and problem solving experience.

* Communicating with staff regarding job performance.

* Completing performance evaluations (MAP), approving time cards, and facilitating shift meetings.

* Participating in developing Individual Support Plan (ISP).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs):

Knowledge of:

* Agency rules, regulations, policies and procedures.

* Individual Support Plan (ISP).

* Specialized needs for individuals with developmental disabilities.

* Supervisory principles including leadership.

Skill in:

* Effective verbal and written communication; problem solving.

* Multi-tasking and prioritizing.

* Time management and motivation.

* Teamwork and team building.

Ability to:

* Evaluate staff performance and resolve problems.

* Monitor the provision of care to individuals; identify problems and implement solutions.

* Manage emergency situations in an effective and professional manner.

* Promote effective communication.

SELECTIVE PREFERENCE(S):

* Candidate must be 18 years of age and able to read and write in English. Must be willing to work weekends, holidays, and overtime, when necessary. Preference given to candidates with a High School or General Education Development (GED) diploma.

PRE-EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS:

* Have a current, valid state issued driver's license appropriate to the assignment. Employee is subject to driver's license record checks and must maintain an acceptable driving record, valid motor vehicle insurance and regulation, and must complete any required training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12).

* Employee must have a valid level one fingerprint clearance card issued pursuant to Arizona Revised Statute (A.R.S.) 41-2758.07 in order to work with children and vulnerable adults.

* Candidates for this position shall be subject to a search of both the Child Protective Services Central registry pursuant to A.R.S. 8-804 and the Adult Protective Services Registry pursuant to A.R.S. 46-459.

* Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hire State employees.

* Successfully pass background and reference check. Employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency's ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

RETIREMENT:

Positions in this classification participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS).
