Lead QA Technician

Position Summary

The individual should be able to maintain an open and productive line of communication with employees, Supervisors, Managers, Sales, R & D and the USDA. Effectively disseminate instructions for QA's to perform daily task and perform periodic follow-ups to confirm that those assigned tasks are done correctly and efficiently. Tests and inspects products at various stages of the production process, and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine and maintain the quality and reliability of our products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Identifying and Reporting to Management Food Safety and Quality Issues

Monitor GMP's, SSOP's and SOP's Compliance.

Active Participation in ongoing training of Procedures, Policies, etc. throughout the Process.

Perform and/or monitor Pre-Operational Plant Sanitation and Pest Control.

Monitor Compliance to HACCP Plans, Plant Programs, Plant Procedures for compliance with Customers Specification and USDA Regulations.

Daily records review to ensure compliance with Customers and USDA.

Facilitate effective and efficient job performance of all QA Technicians.

Maintain an interactive business relation with QA, Production, Sales and USDA personnel.

Test products for qualities such as temperature, defects, code dates, etc.

Run statistical tests on the results and compare the deviation from our existing standard.

Recommend modifications to our process to improve the overall quality of our product.

Prepare full disclosure reports to management

Skills and Competencies:

Reporting experience

QA and compliance experience

Experience and Education Requirements:

High school diploma, but a college degree is preferred

Excellent lab, technical, and statistical skills

Excellent written and oral communication skills

Housekeeping & organizational skills

Excellent Attendance

Other Skills/Abilities

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Ability to read English and Spanish

Ability to use Excel, Word, & Flowchart Software, etc.
