PRN Clinical Support Specialist

MedBridge Healthcare is seeking a Clinical Support Speciliast to work night shift on an as-needed basis in Concord, NC.

Position Summary:

Work under the general supervision of the Clinical Support Manager or designee to provide comprehensive clinical and technical support for MedBridge Healthcare. This position may also include, HST patient calls, HST follow up calls, HST scoring, and diagnostic scoring. This position is not limited to these tasks and may include additional tasks upon request of management.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

* Provide clinical support to sleep labs according to the preset policies and procedures developed by the area's medical director

* Provide technical support to the sleep labs

* Provide support for HST patient's, including follow up calls to assure patient's received equipment

* Development of clinical operations to improve current standards for the diagnostic sleep center

Secondary Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

* Analyze HST studies to determine the best study for scoring

* Score HST, MSLT, MWT, PSG, SPLIT, and PAP studies

* Analyze data that has been acquired during the polysomnographic (sleep) study

* Review and train employees on Lab Retriever functions, sleep software, and scoring

* Perform quality assessments on technologist scoring and acquisitions

* Produce a comprehensive report and forward to the interpreting physician for interpretation

* Comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, and standards regarding safety and infection control issues

* Other clinical duties as required

* Maintain strict confidentiality

Education:

* High School diploma and completion of an accredited Polysomnography Program

Experience:

* Minimum of five years' experience in sleep medicine as a Polysomnographic Technologist

* Minimum of two years' experience in scoring of diagnostic test

Requirements:

* Certified by the Board of Registered Polysomnographic Technologists as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist

* Licensure in the stated that require Licensure for scoring of diagnostic tests

* CPR certified

Knowledge:

* Knowledge of all aspects of polysomnography and sleep medicine protocols.

* Knowledge of how to operate a variety of sleep equipment

* Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and guidelines and standards regarding safety and infection control issues

* Knowledge of hot to instruct staff according to the policies and procedures

Skills:

* Skill in following appropriate testing procedures

* Skill in use of computer and software

* Sill in proper use and preventive maintenance and repair of equipment

* Skill in appropriate quality control and confidentiality procedures

* Skill in exhibiting appropriate interpersonal skills to direct staff and to explain clinical and department procedures to staff

* Skill in analyzing data and situations to implement and administer procedures and to resolve technical, administrative, and patient related problems

* Skill in performing routine and complete equipment care and maintenance

* Skill in demonstrating effective verbal and written communication

* Skill in demonstration appropriate social skills

* Skill in responding to staff inquires by providing appropriate information

* Skill in operating sleep software and equipment, as well as proficient in use of business software and equipment

Abilities:

* Ability to score sleep studies by identifying all parameters of sleep

* Ability to exercise independent judgement for decision making and discretion

* Ability to analyze complex situations and apply policy

* Ability to establish and maintain cooperative relationships with patient, families, and staff

* Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with staff

* Ability to educate staff, patients, and families effectively

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, use hands to finder, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; talk and hear. Occasionally walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl. May be required to regularly lift and/or move up to 60lbs. Vision abilities require close, distant, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
