Primary work schedule: Monday – Friday 4:00pm - 10:00pm, Saturdays are typically noon to 8:00pm, but 2 late shifts a month are required (6:00pm - 2:00am) depending on event. . Sundays 8:00am - 6:00pm. Special events and rentals can take place between 8:00am - midnight and hours will be dependent on these rental times. (Approximately 15 hours per week)

The Ideal Candidate:

The Concord Senior Center is looking for a dynamic, customer friendly individual to join our recreation team. The Facility Attendant II has the responsibility to oversee the daily functions related to interacting with on a daily basis. Provide excellent customer service; be able to communicate effectively and exercise good judgment when necessary; possess strong attention to detail; efficient preparation and tear down of equipment. Must enjoy working with people, exhibit a professional demeanor and display patience when dealing with challenging situations.

Examples of duties include, but are not limited to:

* Serves as the first link to the center, Interacts with customers in person and on the phone, on a daily, continuous basis to provide information, answer inquiries, sells programs, and to resolve customer problems and issues.

* Check and prepare rooms for daily activities, adjusts climate control.

* Process registration and payments for rentals with customers in person, and over the phone , provide information, answer inquiries, sells programs

* Prepare and process documents and reports, including handling of cash and other forms of monetary transactions.

* Maintain logs, files and specialize information system data files, and other record keeping systems used in conjunction with program registration and facility booking.

* Administers first aid as required and handles emergencies or out of the ordinary situations by notifying the proper authority.

* Explain various policies, programs, and activities, including implementation of policies and procedures.

* Leads and directs volunteers.

* Attends trainings, workshops and meetings that pertain to senior center and other related issues.

* Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions. Possess critical thinking skills and able to problem solve. Must be personable and able to deal effectively and courteously with the public.

Experience: Two or more years of experience in customer service driven field is highly desired. Able to lift and move 50 pounds, possess CPR/First Aid Certified within one year of employment,

Education: Satisfactory completion of high school or equivalent. One or more years of college is highly desired.

Other:Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be able to lift/move 50-60 lbs. Considerable knowledge and experience with Windows-based programs. Be willing to obtain fingerprint clearance before start of employment. Have a valid California Driver's License and a good driving record.
