The PUCO is the state agency responsible for the oversight of utilities such as natural gas and electricity and enforcement of safety regulations for motor carriers, ferries, and railroad companies. About the Business Resources Department, Information Technology Division:

The Information Technology division maintains and supports software and hardware to enhance the functionality of the PUCO.

Job duties:

The PUCO seeks a candidate to serve as Software Developer. Primary duties include:

  • The successful candidate for this position will immediately be sent for training in Salesforce and will serve as technical lead in Salesforce. Coordinating with business analysts and customers to provide optimal solution for any business problem.
  • Supporting day to day production activities and provide fixes in a timely manner for any production issues.
  • Developing, maintaining and debugging VisualForce, APEX Classes and APEX Triggers.
  • Assisting in planning, designing, configuration, testing and implementation of SFDC and custom solutions.
  • Driving assignments to execution and provide post implementation support.
  • Mentoring junior developers.
  • Creating technical and how-to documentations on assignments as needed.

  • Completion of undergraduate core program in computer science or information systems; AND 36 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 months work experience in the primary technology (i.e., .NET) as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
  • OR completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; AND 42 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 months work experience in the primary technology (i.e., .NET) as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
  • OR 60 months combined work experience in any combination of the following: assuring requirements are defined and approved, performing code reviews and ensuring application development standards are met including 12 months work experience in the primary technology (i.e., .NET) as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
  • OR equivalent of minimum class qualifications for employment noted above.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Lightning and an understanding of the Lightning Component Framework
  • Salesforce development skills including Apex, Visualforce, REST APIs, SOQL, JavaScript, CSS & HTML
  • Knowledge of Salesforce Administration tools and technologies
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Experience providing support to end users and internal teams
