Job title: Merchandise Support Assistant

General Summary: The Merchandise Support Assistant for the Affiliated Business Group assists the Buyers and merchandising teams with all aspects of style (product) and purchase order processing. This position requires complete understanding of open to buy, paperwork flow and appropriate approvals.

Reports to: Associate Buyer/Men’s

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Document all orders on P-drive tracking sheet
  • Enter style details in MAP from detail sheets (vendor, style, color, attribute information)
  • Enter pack code information
  • Set up MAP books at beginning of season
  • Manage requests for ship changes from vendor – conferencing with the buyers
  • Document all changes/cancellations on P-drive tracking sheet and PO hardcopy
  • Cancel PO balances on Friday
  • Establish & Maintain Photo Library on the P drive – determine how pictures are classified
  • Down load pictures from buyers and vendors into correct year/season/vendor file and label by style
  • Cross check for styles that are missed against purchase orders.
  • Manage samples/Daily packages
  • Partner with Purchase Order Management to track status of orders
  • Resolve DC issues
  • Investigate partial shipments
  • Fix ASN failures
  • Manage Fill-back list
  • Generate Return to Vendor forms
  • Generate vendor set up forms
  • Generate Business Object reporting as directed by Buyers/DMM
  • Price Changes
  • Print/distribute reports
  • Compile Hindsight Books
  • File Purchase Orders

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Knowledge of Jesta System
  • Knowledge of Retail Industry
  • Knowledge of shoe attributes – vary by department
  • Exposure to buying process
  • Strong communication, organization, and analytical skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Retail math skills

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 1 year equivalent experience, preferred

Education:

  • B.S. Degree in Retail Merchandising, Marketing or Business
