Summary:

S-E-A is currently seeking an experienced mechanical, electromechanical, or robotics engineer, due to growth. A successful candidate will be comfortable working in a highly collaborative environment and should be prepared to immediately take on a major role in the mechanical design of multiple robotic systems related to autonomous vehicles. An ideal candidate would also be able to contribute to some aspects of the electronic and software design of these systems, as well. A variety of experience levels will be considered, but a demonstrated track record making major design contributions to robotic, mechatronic, or electromechanical systems is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • Design complex mechanical parts and assemblies for robotic systems
  • Select mechanical and electrical components for robotics products
  • Participate in high-level decision-making regarding mechanical design and technical details of robotics projects
  • Coordinate mechanical design with other mechanical team members and with electrical and software engineers

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, robotics, or similar
  • Demonstrated track record making major design contributions to robotic, mechatronic, or electromechanical systems
  • Extensive experience designing mechanical parts and assemblies in Inventor or Solidworks
  • Must have substantial robotics experience
  • Experience specing, selecting, and sourcing, mechanical and electrical hardware for robotics applications (e.g. motors, brakes, batteries, power supplies, and suspension elements)
  • Ability to manage multiple aspects of projects involving complex electromechanical assemblies
  • Experience working in interdisciplinary teams of mechanical, electrical, and software engineers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Adaptable and flexible to changing project requirements
  • Able to set own goals and take initiative for product improvements

Desired Skills/Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in mechanical engineering, robotics, or similar
  • Experience designing mechanical parts and assemblies in Inventor AND Solidworks
  • Experience with mobile ground robotics
  • Experience with field testing of robotic systems
  • Experience with electrical hardware selection and design
  • Working ability with at least one programming language
  • Knowledge of robotic control theory
  • Experience with automotive testing, especially intelligent and autonomous vehicles
