Responsibilities

* Serves as a Management Support Specialist providing assistance, support and recommendations to specialists who support security, safety, inventory property, and facilities management functions.

* Assists in the control, use, disposition of accountable property. Conducts reviews/inventories of accountable property, approves/maintains hand receipts. Obtains delegation authority/briefs new hand receipt holders.

* Participates in the management, development, evaluation, and operation of procedures and methods used for safeguarding information, property, operations, materials, and personnel.

* Reviews, analyzes, and develops inspection and investigative reports.

* Reviews and advises of any changes to local policies or procedures that may be required and ensures compliance with mandated requirements. Recommends new or revised internal procedures and policies.

* Uses word processing, database, spreadsheet and graphics software to accumulate, manipulate, consolidate, maintain and organize data in order to analyze and provide information and produce a variety of reports, charts and briefings.

Qualifications

One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.

Specialized Experience is defined as: researching information and data to prepare forms, reports and other related communications; experience with a variety of office automation software to produce correspondence, narrative and statistical reports, spreadsheets, graphs and presentation materials; and assisting in the analysis of program or project data.

Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. Applicant must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher grade in Federal Service.

Education

GS-9 Substitution of Education for Experience: Two full years of progressively higher level graduate education, Master's or equivalent graduate degree, may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements. If you are using education to substitute for the specialized experience, you must submit transcripts at the time you apply.
