Director of Finance, Products & Markets

The Finance Director of Products & Markets will partner with the CPO and CAO to ensure that proper analytical and financial rigor is applied in making business decisions. Work with Portfolio and Academic management leaders to manage the budget, track and monitor plant expense, provide guidance in the preparation of PPA's and serve as the overall financial advisor for the Product and Academic Design teams. In addition, this role will work closely with the FP&A, Sales Finance and Accounting Finance teams to insure all financial deliverables are met.

Your Contribution to the Team Includes:

* Provide Financial Decision Support to Product Portfolio and Academic management team leaders on issues such as staffing models, cost and productivity metrics and vendor selection. Ensure that investments and initiatives in Product investment are aligned with business strategy and priorities.

* Collaborates with business leaders and key functional leaders from across School to develop and manage PPA process, including financial support, customization analysis and overall review and analysis. Communicates status of the portfolio investments to all stakeholders in business units.

* Create revenue and expense budgets and forecasts, inclusive of monitoring of those budgets and helping to implement corrective action when plans vary from Budget

* Create streamlined and efficient processes and procedures for all Financial Business Managers to allow for consistency and the ability for coverage when needed

* Additional responsibilities will include performing profitability analysis as well as providing Accounting and FP&A support to provide specific data regarding Portfolio strategy and forecast

What You'll Need to be Successful:

* BS in Accounting/Financial Management. MBA or CPA preferred

* Seven years financial experience, preferably in a publishing environment

* Supervise department employees including day-to day supervision and mentorship

* Highly proficient in budgeting, forecasting, analysis

* Strong organizational, planning, and prioritization skills

* Exceptional analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills

* Outside of the box thinker, creative problem solver

* Strong interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively across multiple functions and with varied levels of management

* Excellent Microsoft Office skills – Advanced skill set in Excel and Access

* Tableau and Salesforce experience a plus

* Proven ability to develop and enforce quality Financial Business Management practices

* Excellent oral, written and presentation skills

* Experience leveraging data and analytics to drive internal and customer value
